"Emacs is a good operating system with an ok text editor." That scared me away from Emacs many years ago. That and the fact that it seemed soooo complicated for a text editor. But I eventually decided to use it, and nothing else. Now, I Emacs everything! I went as far as using Emacs as my window manager. It is true, "Emacs is a good operating system with an ok text editor."
