Pete Yorn Since debuting in the early 2000s, Pete Yorn's blend of rugged, folk-leaning indie rock and alt-pop has earned him critical acclaim and a widespread fan base. The New Jersey-born singer/songwriter first rose to mainstream success with his gold-selling debut album, 2001's Musicforthemorningafter, then entered Billboard's Top 20 with 2003's Day I Forgot. Over subsequent releases, Yorn attracted a range of talented producers and collaborators including Peter Buck, Frank Black, Dave Grohl, Butch Walker, and many more. Amid his many solo releases, he teamed up with Scarlett Johansson for a popular duets album and formed the alt-rock side project the Olms in 2013. Yorn returned to the major-label system for 2016's Arranging Time, then launched his own label to handle releases like 2022's Hawaii and 2024's The Hard Way.Pete Yorn was born in 1974 in Pompton Plains, New Jersey, and grew up in nearby Montville where his older brother Rick Yorn (a Hollywood talent agent) taught him how to play drums.
